Casey (Huggerman) and I just went in 1/2 on this car.
Pretty strong suspicion that it is a very late LM1 car.

12C X44, early X code car.

Odd thing is that it is a 10Bolt rear. Can't wait to get it here to see if the dates match the car, if so, that might show the base manual transmission, a Muncie 3speed, sometimes got the 10 bolt like the base auto (powerglide) sometimes did.

Got the car in today, HQ coded #'s engine, SCORE!

LM1, still has the ultra rare (not saying desireable) MC1 3 Speed Muncie transmission.

The car has a 10 bolt, and as this was a base HiPo car like the base SS 350, and a very late car as well, I suspect it is original. There have been several SS 350 cars with 10 Bolt rears.

I'll know more when I get a few seconds to pull the numbers.

Rear end is not original. Someone must have swiped it at some point.

Drives real good and I am amazed at how many original unmolested parts are on this car, grounding straps on the motor, Bellhousing cover (always missing!), lift hooks and even the plastic cable channel on the firewall is still there and uncraked.

Pics soon.

OK,
Off she went into paint, not too bad on the rust issues, but she does have some bondo issues.

She will never be a trailer queen, but should make someone a nice summer cruiser.

Or a good first car for my daughter! :)

It might be a three speed, but it's a MUNCIE three speed. :)
